The Morgan family has never been a fan of January... and this year couldn't have proven to be more true! My grandmother passed away, we had some family health scares, Kevin had to go on a two week long work trip, we got the Norovirus (even worse and for the second time) and this last week Kevin's grandfather passed away as well. So, to say the least we are really hoping February has better things in store for us!
We did have some fun in January though with Taylor's birthday, my grandfathers 90th Bday party, a trip to Austin to visit Gaga and Papa, a fun EO gala date night, Panama City Beach, having Melanie and Charlie (6 months) visit and seeing the gals for girls dinner night! Never a dull moment!
I am catching up on my blogging as I am on a flight back from Greenville, SC (thank you Southwest WIFI) . This weekend was my cousin Betsy's bachelorette party in Asheville, NC. It was such a blast in a beautiful place with some fun girls. I spent my very first nights away from my baby girl ever, and although it was painful as anything- it was a wonderful time and mom got a break. I cannot wait to see my child and hubby in less than an hour though!!!! My husband and parents were awesome in all pulling together to take care of Tay while I was gone for 2 nights and were so sweet to send me numerous photos and videos.
Asheville was gorgeous and we visited the Grove Park Inn for lunch, toured the Biltmore Estate (the Vanderbilts 200 room home on 8,000 acres) and went out in downtown Asheville. We stayed in a mountain cabin and had a great time. Such a blast and now I am even more excited for Betsy and Stephens big day in April!!!
As soon as I arrive in Houston I will meet my loves and hop on another plane so we can fly to Kevin's grandfathers funeral in Jal, NM. Pa was such an amazing, sweet man and we were blessed to have him in our lives. It is always comforting to know someone has lived a God filled life and is watching over you in Heaven. What a true example of a family man.
Taylor is now 13 months and is a little busy body! she just cut her 7th tooth- a molar and is finally starting to show interest in her walker. She loves to dive off all furniture (which leaves Kevin and i jumping to catch her regularly). She says more words every day- and she loves to say ruff ruff whenever she sees or hears doggies. Her hair is getting so long and she is strong! I call her the welcome committee because wherever we go she is smiling, waving and saying hi. We are trying to wean off the bottle totally- as she likes sippy cups, but at is point we are still doing one cow milk bottle in the morning. She has a new little smile with her teeth that are getting bigger and it makes her look so much older! My babies growing up! Tear. She is still momma's little side kick and is such a trooper. We have started the initial house hunting process and after looking at several different areas have decided to focus our search to Memorial area and possibly even gutting and renovating a home there. Wish us luck! It's crazy how fast stuff goes in that area. Whoa.
Well, here's to 2013 only getting better and a few snapshots of things we've been up to!
