The Dirty Thirty

As reluctant as I was to turn 30, it was the best birthday I think I have ever had. My brother and sister in law came into town from Amarillo (sans kiddos) and we left Tay with Gaga and Grandpa and went to Eddie V's downtown Thursday night. After martini's,cocktails and lots of wine we had a wonderful meal and it was great to double date with Trent and Jo. The next morning (after my first "pump 'n dump") we headed to the lake houses on LBJ that Kevin rented for my 30th. It was such a great time and meant so much that all of my best friends came from all over Texas to celebrate. Even my parents came so they could watch the nugget while I had a little play time on the lake. It was so fun to have everyone all together again. The Nowlins made the best fajitas and my honey made amazing 40-day aged steaks and king crab legs. I even got a home-made carrot cake (my fav) from my mom with candles. Thanks a million to my sweet husband, friends and parents for the best birthday I could ever wish for. I am truly blessed.

San Diego

A personal goal I had set for myself while pregnant was to run the half marathon in San Diego the first weekend in June. As always wih running events, my dad was game to do it with me. Although we just ended up doing the relay, (me running 8, and my dad 5) we did it! San Diego was pretty although we wanted warm beach weather and it never got over 65 degrees. The marathon was great and I was proud to say that I was actually able to run the whole thing...even with my limited training! ;) I barely took pics so here are the few I took on my iPhone. I have to get better at that!

It's been a while...

I have seriously been slacking with my blogging. Firstly, all I really use now is my iPad and I am not as skilled with it as I was on my laptop. Secondly I have a almost 6 month old who loves to non-stop wiggle and thirdly, we are living in Austin for the summer! So... To say the least it's been a little loco at the Morgan household (where ever that is!)To catch up- Memorial weekend we moved to Austin so my husband could focus more on the new software company he is a part of. We are living in a high rise downtown by Whole Foods which is an amazing location with a view to die for. We rented furniture and just brought down our personals, so it doesn't feel quite like home but is plenty cozy. It is def different being in a 2 bedroom condo vs. our 3 story home, but I am loving not having to deal with all the stairs! It is very convenient knowing wherever I am in the condo I can always hear Miss Taylor with out having to drag my monitor everywhere. Although we have been here a month, we have also jumped back to Houston several times. Gone to San Diego, Lake LBJ for my 30th and San Antonio for a girls weekend. So, like normal we haven't been here very much yet. We should be slowing down for the next several months and I look forward to just enjoying Austin...and Taylor, Kevin and I are loving being by Gaga and Papa too (my parents).

Taylor's 1st trip to Georgia

Taylor got to visit Atlanta and Albany to meet her great-grandma, aunts and cousins a few weeks ago. She was absolutely wonderful on the airplane flights, as always. We started her early so we are hoping it stays this way the older she gets. We got to see Granny, Uncle Bob and Aunt Sherrill in Albany and then had a great "low country boil"(texans version of crawfish boils) at the Frames. We had a great time but it was too quick! And a big CONGRATS to my cousin Betsy & Stephen on their engagement! We can't wait to celebrate with y'all next spring!

Taylor's 2 Months!

Taylor's 2 Month Check Up Stats:
Height- 22 in./ 31%
Weight- 10 lbs. 3.5 oz/ 25%
Head- 14 1/2 in./ 14%

I can not believe that my little girl is 2 months old. Wow how time flies. It is unreal that it has been this long, but I also can barely remember my life before her. Here are a few things that have been going on in our world this last month, and the little quirks that makes Taylor the little love bug that she is.

- is focusing eyes much more now and eyes are lightening to a lighter blue...I still think that they will turn green because of Mom & Dad's eyes
- Holding up neck MUCH better! Loves to sit up and look around or be walked around
- Is a little piglet! Loves to eat and be full! She will let you know the minute she gets hungry and is really cluster feeding at night...it's like she never gets full!
- Has been sleeping about 5 hours/ night and just made her first 7 hour sleep night 2 nights ago.
- First trip out of town to Amarillo where she got to meet most of her cousins, and hang out with her Mimi and Boss Pa...but sadly came back with what we later found out was RSV & Bronchilitis :(
- Mom had her first night out solo for Amye's bachelorette party in Austin, while Tay stayed with Dad, and Grandma and Grandpa Sleep...just being gone for 5 hours broke my heart! Also gave them a run for their money with 3 hours of fussiness. What can I say...my girl likes her boob.
- Got 2 of the 5 vaccines that were scheduled. We have debated since her conception what vaccines we want to opt out of and what to give. Such a hard decision either way. We created a custom program with our Pediatrician, Dr. Brack. She cried and was pretty pitiful, and sleepy the night of and ran a 100.6 degree fever that night but was back to normal by lunch the next day. Was still SO heartbreaking to see.
- Is smiling more and more every day. We always get lots of "sleep" smiles but now is starting to smile to voices and especially after she eats!
- Kicking around a lot more and starting to enjoy her play mat.
- Just moved into a size 1 diaper out of Newborn and is now fitting perfectly into her 0-3 month clothes.
- Gets fussy like clock work around 6pm- 9pm...and then settles down really well for bedtime.
- We are still loving our morning cuddles where we catnap from when she wakes up for a couple of hours. Best part of the day!
- Grew out of her Snuzzler head insert for her car seat.
- Makes the cutest pucker face

We head to Key West, Florida on Wednesday for Amye & Chad's wedding. We are so excited to celebrate with them and it will be our first real vacation since our babymoon we went on in October. Wish us luck with Taylor flying...we figure the earlier we get her used to flying the better. This little girl is going to be a jetsetter! :)
